More than 90 people have died in a gas explosion in a coal mine in northern China, the worst mining disaster in the country since 2009.
The blast in Shanxi province constitutes the country's worst mining disaster in 16 years.
The accident occurred Friday night local time at the Liushenyu coal mine in Changzhi City, according to the Chinese state news agency Xinhua.
At least 123 people were also sent to hospital for treatment, four of whom were in critical or severe condition, state broadcaster CCTV said.
