FREE EMBEDS

Embed an Optics comparison on your site.

Drop one line of HTML into a blog post, newsletter, or Substack and render a live headline comparison from across the political spectrum. Auto-updates as more outlets pick up the story. Free for any site, no attribution required (but we'll love you for it).

How it works

1. Pick a story on Optics News. Copy the slug from its URL — e.g. for /story/colorado-governor-commutes-tina-peters-story-276 the slug is colorado-governor-commutes-tina-peters-story-276.
2. Paste this snippet into your CMS, replacing STORY_SLUG with the slug above:

<iframe src="https://www.optics.news/embed/STORY_SLUG" width="100%" height="380" style="border:0;max-width:620px;display:block;margin:0 auto" loading="lazy" title="Optics News headline comparison"></iframe>

That's it. The card shows the two strongest contrasting headlines, the left/center/right source mix, and a plain-English read of why the wording matters. It links back to the full comparison on optics.news.

Live previews

Three current stories with strong wording differences. Each preview is the actual embed rendered in an iframe — what your readers will see on your site.

Who this is for

• Newsletter writers who quote one outlet and want to show how another covered the same event.
• Bloggers and Substackers who want a visual receipt of how each side worded it.
• Civics and media-literacy educators who need a one-click way to surface real, current examples.
• Reporters writing about media framing who want a live comparison instead of static screenshots.

What we ask

• Don't hot-link the embed for monetization without telling us — drop a note to creators@optics.news if you're using this on a paid newsletter or a site with significant traffic; we'll add you to the creator program.
• Don't reframe the embed to make it look like it's saying something Optics didn't. The card always links back to the full comparison so readers can verify.
• If the iframe is broken or styled weirdly on your site, send us the URL and we'll fix it.

Coming soon

• A <script> loader that auto-resizes the iframe to its content height.
• Curated “framing of the week” embeds you can rotate automatically.
• A creator portal with referral links + b-roll packs (per the Optics Creator Program roadmap).
